Literature Text

In life, one will make a substantial amount of friends, people whom you can trust and depend on when things don’t look very good. However, one will also find that there are people whom they don’t take a liking to, whether it be due to their ideals, ideas and beliefs.

No one enjoys making enemies, especially if said person was once a close friend or even a family member. Many do not attempt to make things right with their supposed enemies, instead they’d rather let things be and move on with their lives.

It is a shame that some people will hold a grudge of the silliest things, from stealing a simple object such as a pen to a small argument over a love interest. Those whom once believed their friends were loyal and trustworthy soon realize how wrong they are, and unfortunately must learn that the hard way.

You, a twenty – four year old University student, never believed that you would make any enemies, believing that your life would only be surrounded and enjoyed by those you called friends and family members. Your first enemy, or rival if you will, was a male nearly your age whom you had a small run in with during your first year of University.

You, along with a good number of your friends, attended a renowned institute called One Piece Academy. Your rival just so happened to attend the same school, both applying and entering the same year.

You could never forget his name, for it was sickeningly smooth and unique making you hate it even more.

    His name was Trafalgar Law.

He was handsome beyond compare, being a slim, tall male with slightly messy black hair that was almost constantly covered by his signature hat, allowing his side burns and goatee to be seen. He had faint shadows right under his piercing grey eyes, and a lazy smile was normally seen gracing his features. His tanned body was decorated with tribal – style tattoos on his arms, chest and back; on both of his hands, are letters spelled as D E A T H tattooed in black on each of the back of his fingers. He also has a black cross on the back of both of his hands.

You had never seen any other tattoos other than the ones on his arms, however, Law’s many admirers state otherwise.

His clothing was nothing special, occasionally changing his attire here and there. All in all, Trafalgar Law seemed nothing more than a boring, normal young adult with a slight bad boy appearance. Eventually, you personally understood that his bad boy style was not just displayed in his looks. You could not deny that he was handsome, but there was something you hated to the point where you did not even see him as attractive.

    His attitude.

Law was rude, cold, irritating, smug, cocky, over confident, and even a tad lazy. The only thing he had going for him other than good looks was his extreme intelligence – especially in the medical field.

How women swoon for him was a mystery to you, not expecting such a man to be so revered or even treated as a God. They followed him around like lost puppies, requesting to be tutored just to get close to him. It was utterly pathetic, and what you despised most was that you would have to spend nearly four to five years of you University life with him just to achieve your dream job.

You could easily recall the very day you had first met Trafalgar, for it was a day before your birthday – [D/O/B]. It was during your very first year of the semester and frankly you were doing quite well, only having a single class in the high seventies.

It was around lunch and you had maneuvered your way throughout the human traffic towards your locker. You tampered swiftly with your lock then opened the dark blue door, your [E/C] eyes meeting the sight of a fully bloomed rose with a small card. You rose an eyebrow out of curiosity, taking hold of the lovely flower and the card.

You smiled instantly at the familiar hand writing, almost rolling your eyes as a grin stretched your cheeks from ear to ear.

Happy Birthday, my dear beloved [F/N]!

                                                Love Sanji ~

A light giggle escaped your lips at the message, a typical, romantic gesture from your blonde friend. Placing your gifts carefully back into the locker, you trading several items with others before snatching a hold of your lunch bag, closing and locking your locker.

Suddenly, adorning screams sounded, causing you to turn your head towards the direction indicated. It was not very difficult to determine the cause of the sudden uproar, for a crowd of girls surrounded a single man, all repeatedly shouting his name and nonsense that you could not hear over dozens of voices.

“Trafalgar Law!” They screeched as if he were an extremely famous singer. A stunning smirk adorned the ravenette’s face as he merely ignored his love – crazed ‘fans’ and continued on by.

However, although it was only for a brief moment, you and Law locked eyes, and it seemed that all of the females and bystanders suddenly vanished, leaving only you both. You could have sworn you had seen his smirk widen ever so slightly, but you ignored it, decided not to remain in such a noisy environment any longer.

Gradually, the screams of the fangirls died down until there was nothing more but the normal background noise of students chatting amongst themselves. As you passed by what the school society would call popular girls, your ear caught wind of their conversation.

“Trafalgar Law totally has the hots for me!”

“You go girl, anyone would die to be in your shoes!”

“Totally, you are like sooo lucky!”

“I know right! I’ve got him practically wrapped around my finger ~”

You couldn’t help but scoff, for Law seemed far too intelligent to become influenced so easily. No, in fact, you believed that it was the other way around, it was Trafalgar whom had that poor girl wrapped around his finger.

Thankfully, you were interested in more than just looks, although you would not mind a good looking guy. If Law really did want you to fall for him in such a pathetic manner such as what you had witnessed minutes ago, well he would have to show you a lot more.

After lunch, you bid farewell to your friends and quickly made your way to your locker. Upon turning the final corner, you halted at an unexpected sight. Furrowing your brows, you cautiously approached the man whom leaned calmly against your locker.

“Can I help you?” You questioned with a raised eyebrow, hoping you did not sound too rude or annoyed. Law smirked, staring up and down in an analysing manner before silently stepping out of the way, allowing you to access your locker.

All around, bystanders paused and gaped at the scene, unsure of how to properly react to one of the most popular boys in the school seemingly hanging out with an unknown student. Naturally you would have expected as such, since you were new to the school – but then again so was Law.

You opened your locker, trying to quickly switch your things so you would not have to deal with the piercing, silver gaze any longer. What you were unaware of was that Law’s gaze briefly shifted towards the rose and card that sat displayed on a math textbook.

“Is that from some secret admirer?” Law asked, eyeing the romantic items. That was not something you expected to start off a conversation, not to mention that it was the very first time he had even spoken to you.

Nevertheless, you shook your head, “No, it’s –”

Law rudely interrupted with a lazy hum, turning his gaze away from the interior, “I thought so.”

You blinked at the comment, your eyes narrowing moments later, “What do you mean by that?”

Law glanced at you, allowing a small smirk to grace his features, “Exactly what it means, Shorty – ya. I can’t see anyone secretly admiring you from afar, no. Not at all.”

You glared at the significantly taller male, “That’s not true! I could have a secret admirer! And what the hell did you call me?”

A light, almost amused chuckle escaped his lips, only adding more fuel to your growing wrath, “Well, if you do have one, their doing a very good job at keeping it a secret.”

You opened your mouth to argue back, however you quickly shut it. You blinked in realization, and let out a small chuckle which slightly surprised Law. You closed your locker, glancing up to meet his gaze with a smirk.

“I see what you’re trying to do, Trafalgar, and it won’t work.” You paused, glancing up at his hat and suddenly tore it off his head, earning in immediate, irrigated reaction.

“Hey, give that back!” Law growled as he attempted to reach of his hat, however, you pulled your arm back, your smirk growing.

“You know, Trafalgar, you should respect school rules. Wear this outside.” You stated confidently before tossing the male his headdress. You turned on your heel and strolled off to your next class, leaving an irritated Trafalgar Law a tad bit humiliated in the hall.

It was not an ideal meet and greet, and you very rarely wished that it may have gone a bit more smoothly if Law wasn’t such an ass. Even so, the meetings never really did stop there, for you both actually had Biology together and would frequently [as well as unfortunately] meet on the way to classes.

Your relationship, if one could even call it that, was not a very pleasant one. You constantly dissed each other out on every little thing from your appearance to little gestures you’d make, glare at one another whenever your eyes locked, and did everything in each other’s power to annoy the other.

It was not a very healthy relationship, not even in the slightest, but even so it seemed to work for you both. You just could not get along with Law, and vis versa. At one point your friends had to hold you back so you would not mortally injure the wanna – be – doctor, and that itself was a difficult thing to do.

[F/N] [L/N] and Trafalgar Law hate one another and nothing could ever change that fact.

I hope you all enjoy this first part of the series, I defiantly had fun writing this piece ~

Comments are appreciate, since I kinda want to know how ya'll think of it so far and if I should actually continue on with it.

I doubt it so much...

Law smirked, staring up and down in an analysing manner before silently stepping out of the way, allowing you to access your locker.
