You paced back and forth in the living room whilst David observed from a comfortable distance on the couch, sipping on a cup of coffee in a relaxed manner.

“You’re overreacting to this, [F/N].” He sighed in a matter – of – fact tone. You shot a glare towards your brother, silently demanding that he shut his mouth. You were not overreacting to the unfortunate situation you had found yourself in, no, you were simply debating whether or not you should honestly go to his house.

It was still a shock to you, not at all expecting Law to give you his address even for a school project. Sure it was understandable, but it would be very awkward for the both of you.

Maybe after the partnership was terminated, you could sell Law’s address to his adorning ‘fans’ for several bucks. You couldn’t help but smirk impishly at the thought, hell, maybe you could even blackmail the bastard!

You finally paused, gripping your chin in thought. You turned to David, “Should I go?”

David raised an eyebrow at the question, lowering his mug, “Why are you asking me? He’s your partner.”

You frowned, looking away from your brother and stared down at the wooden floor. You were fully aware, even if you had denied it numerous times, that you were overreacting towards the situation. This was the very first time you had ever been to Law’s house, not to mention how uncomfortable you both will be, it was only natural that you responded in such a way.

You groaned softly in slight frustration, ruffling your hair as you glance towards the clock that hung on the far wall. The time read 4:30 PM, you having exactly thirty minutes [according to the precise time Law had demanded you arrive on] to decide whether or not you would go.

It’s shocking how difficult a simple decision was for someone your age.

Did you want to go? Absolutely not, however, it seemed that the circumstances forced you to do so. It was quite obvious that you had to go, but you really did not want to spend an undisclosed period of time with that irritating man more than you had to. You could handle his general presence at school but afterwards did not seem to be an option, since the after school hours were the only times that you did not have to see Law.

It’s only for one month, one measly month and the horrid partnership would be over. Then, you could push all of the memories you had with the wanna – be – doctor to the darkest corners of your mind to never be seen again. It would be rather pathetic if you could not endure it for a short period of time, and thankfully, school timelines seems to fly by very quickly.

You turned to David with a confirmed expression, “Alright, I’m going.”

David sprung onto his feet, “Finally!”

“Or –” You begun yet again as doubt clouded your judgement, causing David to groan and fall back onto the couch with a facepalm, careful not to slip his coffee. He rubbed his hand down across his face, huffing as his younger sister suddenly began to rant as she paced back and forth.

Was it that god – damn hard to just go and get it over with? Did you hate Law that much to debate whether or not to go to his house for only two hours? David would be somewhat impressed with your stubbornness, if it wasn’t so childish and a tab irritating.

Maybe this partnership can show you how idiotic your hatred for Law really was, or that was what David would have wanted.

Trafalgar’s House, 5:19 PM

Law paced back and forth in his living room, a highly irritated expression plastered on his face as he continuously glared at the clock then at the front door. [F/N] [L/N] was late, you were very late and the tattooed man was at his wits end waiting on you. He had specifically you to arrive at exactly five o’clock, or was such a task far too difficult for your thick – headed skull to comprehend?

He knew that something like this would happen, either that or you had somehow gotten lost on the way to his house. Regardless of your reasons if you did indeed arrive, Law was going to give you a piece of his mind, and if you jeopardizes his grades even in the slightest he would –

Trafalgar’s train of thought was cut off as a series of knocks erupted from the front door. He grumbled a low ‘finally’ as he stomped towards the door, unlocking it and swinging it open. He glared furiously at the sight of a slightly shock [F/N], whom flinched back a bit as the door was opened with unexpected fury. You did not need to look up to meet the gaze of your host to know that he was not in the best of moods, the rage practically radiating from his body in menacing waves.

Law must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed, it being the only explanation you could think of for his extreme aggravation.

“Trafalgar.” You greeted half – heartedly, even going in as to add a slight nod of your head. A tick mark appeared on Law’s forehead at the seemingly laid – back response, your cool and relaxed demeanor only increasing the medical student’s annoyance.

“Do you know what time it is, Shorty – ya?” Law questioned through gritted teeth, trying his damned hardest to keep his composure. You hummed lazily, although you were a bit annoyed at hearing the original nickname given to you. You glanced up at the sky for several moments before shrugging, obviously not caring in the slightest what had ticked off your partner.

Law was not one to get angry over such trivial things, however, for some odd reason, you were able to piss his off with little to no effort. From your attitude to your snappy comebacks, whatever you did it set him off.

“It is five twenty, Shorty – ya, you are twenty minutes late. I told you to come at exactly –“

“At exactly five o’clock.” You finished, rolling your eyes, “Let’s just get this over with so I can go home.”

Law clicked his tongue, but nonetheless opened his door wider to allow you to enter. You stepped out of the crispy autumn air and through the threshold into the room temperature of the home. You silently panned your gaze throughout your new surroundings, noticing a kitchen, a living room, a hall that lead to an unknown location, and a staircase that connected the top and bottom floors.

His house was extremely clean, and from the looks of it no one else seemed to be residing in the dwelling. You frowned at the thought, wondering if Law truly did live all by himself without even a sibling to look after him.

Although your parents had passed away nearly four years ago, you still had David to keep you company. If Law did not in fact have any parents, then was he living all alone? Or he may have just moved out, a more pleasant reason then the latter.

You watched as Law strolled past you then gesture towards the living room, silently ordering you to remain there until further notice. You did as you were told, making your way towards the living room whilst closely studying the items around you.

Law disappeared up the staircase, possibly gathering any necessary items from his room.

You dropped your bag on the couch, letting out a breath as you combed your fingers through your hair. The atmosphere was filled with a sorts of emotions that you never thought you would feel, especially in Law’s house. You could sense the loneliness, sorrow and even a hint of depression. It was almost too much for you to handle, and either Law gets his ass down here and quickly otherwise you would be forced to make a break for the outside world.

It house looked so nice and well kept, so why did it contain such negative emotions?

In addition, Law did not seem the type to by lonely nor depressed, seeing as he had outstanding grades and fangirls that adore him. Even so, there was no need for you to invade his personal life, not that you wanted to. In fact, Law’s personal life may be boring as hell.

Several framed photos propped on a wooden shelf had managed to distracted you from your thoughts just enough, and so you rounded the small coffee table and paused several feet away from the shelf. You raised an eyebrow at the images, a small smile pulling at your cheeks at the sight of Law and an unfamiliar man with blonde hair. The blonde man bore a massive grin, whilst ruffling the hair of a slightly younger looking Law whom bore an irritated look.

The other photographs depicted similar images, but only one had an image of the man and Law where both individuals were smiling, even if the ravenette’s was small. A smile was not something you expected to see adorning Law’s face, especially one that looked as real as the one in the photo.

You were only familiar with the mocking smirks and lazy grins that Trafalgar constantly displayed towards the public, so it was a bit strange to see such a content expression on the wanna – be doctor’s face. Panning your gaze through all the photos once more, you noticed that in each one, even if Law had an annoyed look, you could sense a form of happiness hidden somewhere in the stilled frame, but also a mixture of sadness.

Regardless, Law looked genuinely happy, and it seemed to be because of that man. Was he Law’s father? Where was he right now?

Those questions could not be answered for the grey – eyed man had returned from his wondrous journey, and had in fact observed you from just around the corner for nearly a minute. He cleared his throat, effortlessly gaining your attention. You nodded towards Law once you had laid eyes on his form, humming a short greeting as you quickly stepped away from the shelf.

Law said nothing, he only watched as you awkwardly planted yourself on the couch, tapping a soft beat on your thighs in hopes of relieving any of the tension. He walked over with a black binder and seated himself next to you.

The silence that settled was not exactly pleasant, and so you cleared your throat and spoke up, hoping to relieve the awkwardness, “So, uh, how are we going to do the assignment?”

    Law said nothing.

You huffed softly, rubbing the back of your head, “Okay,” you mumbled, momentarily breaking eye contact, “Uh, did you already pick which parts of your story you wanted to use?”

    Law said nothing.

You bit your lip, wondering if you had somehow upset the ravenette to the point where he would not even respond. Law didn’t look unhappy, hell, you could not even read any form of emotion, all he was stare at you.

You spoke up once more, “Uh, you alright there, buddy?”

    Law, surprisingly, said nothing.

The unnerving silence gradually began to eat away at you until you were beginning to become riled. What in the world was wrong with him? Why wasn’t he speaking?

Finally done with his taciturn demeanor, you voiced your impatience, “Alright, Trafalgar, I’ve had enough of your bipolar mood swings. Either we work on the assignment now and be done with this so I can leave, or I just leave and we fail. So, what’s it going to be?”

Law, you guessed it, said, “Fine.” He placed the binder on the coffee table and opened it, flipping through dozens of papers until he located his narrative and removed it from the rings.

You sighed, content that he was no longer mute and actually decided to get some work done.

For about fifteen minutes everything seemingly went smoothly, you managing to begin the final draft of your combined narrative. In addition, you learned something rather important about Law, the bastard hated being told what to do. You learned that after tell him to erase a sentence and boy did the doctor lose his cool, for Law suddenly ranted on for nearly five minutes. Regardless, it seemed this first assignment should hopefully be completed within the next hour or so.

You were halfway through the final draft and you had begun to read over the story silently. However, several paragraphs into the narrative, a suddenly crash sounded from your left, causing your to jump and gasp in alarm.

You turned to Law, “What was that?”

Law did not answer, instead he groaned in annoyed, running his tattooed hand over his face. He grumbled several incoherent words before he stood up.

“Stay here. I’ll be back.” Law stated before storming off to the source of the crash. You were unsure what to think, normally one’s natural reaction to an unknown and scary sound is to look frightened or at least alarmed, on the other hand, Law just looked pissed. Had strange sounds such as that occurred so often that he had become accustomed to it to the point where they annoyed him?

Damn, Trafalgar was a weird guy.

You quickly grew bored of waiting for the sadist and stood up, making your way towards the direction Law rushed off to. As you gradually made your way towards what you assumed was the source of the noise, your ears caught wind of a conversation. You heard two people, one was Law and the other a male voice you did not recognize.

You were a bit shocked by the fact that there was another person in the household, since you originally believed that Law lived alone, or this unknown individual was simply hiding somewhere in the house the entire time. Either that or Trafalgar was having a heated argument with a burglar.

The closer you got the more clearer the conversation was.

“Oh come now, Law, you really didn’t have to hide me!”

“Yes I did, you’d just bother us. What the hell was that noise anyways?”

“Oh, that. Well, you see, I was trying to find my way out through the dark and I tripped on a chair and fell onto the table. The table is now broken.”

An irritated groaned sounded, “I can’t leave you alone for a second, and now I have to get a new table. Perfect. Just get back in the garage.”

“But it’s dark and lonely, like your heart. Law, I promise that I –”

    “No! In the garage!”

    “But I –”

    “In. The. Garage!”

“I might break another table if I go back!”

    “Then open the damn lights!”

“But I can’t see the lights!”

    “It’s just for an hour!”

    “I’m not going!”

“Ugh, why are you being so difficult now of all times?!”

A dramatic gasp sounded, “You think I am being difficult? Law, you wound me with your words.”

    “Just do as I say!”

“What? Don’t want me to meet your girlfriend?”

“Say that again and I’ll kill you, Cora – san!”

You stepped into the hall, quickly gaining the attention of both men. You scowled at the pair, obviously not very fond of the end result of the conversation, “I second that. Besides, I’m too good for Trafalgar.”

Having successfully interrupted their quarrel, you strolled up to Law and the man, whom you quickly realized was the exact same person from the photographs. He was a blonde, and a damn tall one at that. Law barely reached his shoulder blades.

You couldn’t help but smirk, “Well, looks like Law isn’t as tall as I thought. Are you his dad?”

“Like hell he is.” Law grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest as he avoided complete eye contact with the tall, strange looking man. On the other hand, the blonde smiled kindly as he looked down at you.

“Your Law’s friend I take it. My name is Rocinante, but you may call me Corazon.” The blonde, Corazon, greeted with an outstretched hand.

You smiled, taking his hand and giving it a firm shake, “Nice to meet you, Corazon. I’m [F/N] [L/N].”

Upon releasing one another hands, Corazon clapped his hands together, “Say, why don’t you two take a break? I can make you both something to eat!”

Before you could happily agree to the tall blonde’s request, Law swiftly intervened as he stepped in front of Corazon and began to push him towards a door [it leading to the garage].

“Yeah, no thanks Cora – san. Now back in the garage!” Law demanded as he attempted to push Corazon in the general direction of the door. Corazon, however, easily side – stepped out of the way and quickly jumped to your side. He wrapped a long arm around your shoulder, pulling your close to his body, your face tickled by the strange, black, feather – like garb.

He leaned in close to your ear and whispered impishly, “I’ve got a lot of… interesting stories about Law, that is, if you’d like to hear them?”

Indeed, that was an offer far too good to pass up, and so, with an amused smirk you nodded, “Oh yes, please do tell ~”

“Cora – san we don’t have time for this!” Law snapped at his guardian, oblivious to the agreement Corazon and you had made. Regardless of his protests, you and the blonde waltzed away, completely ignoring Law whom was not exactly in good terms with what had just occurred.

All he had asked of Rocinante was to remain silent in the garage for an hour or so, yet it seemed that his clumsiness had easily gotten the better of him. Seriously, with all the accidents Corazon has had it was a wonder how he was still alive.

Law had seen the mischievous glints in both their eyes, and he knew that something unfavorable was going to happen. If Corazon breaths even a word concerning any of Law’s embarrassing past stories or begins pulling out baby pictures, he was going to strangle that clumsy man.

So, Corazon makes an appearance, and he and Reader - Chan seem to be getting along very well!  Clap Clap Clap

Anyhow, there's the next part to the series, and I hope you all enjoyed it so far!
