“Are we clear on the matter, Shorty – ya?”

You nodded with an uninterested expression. Did you listen to anything the wanna – be – doctor said? Absolutely not, you completely tuned out of the dull conversation and merely stared blankly at the wall behind him.

Law had dragged you away from your friends and brought you to a rather secluded section of the Academy where not many students ate. Then, he began to rant and bitch about all sorts of things that you could care less about for what seemed to be an eternity. You forced yourself to nod from time to time, in hopes of convincing the man that you were listening when in fact you were not.

Law didn’t comment it, so you assumed that your trick worked.

It was then the tattooed man held out his hand, staring down at you with an expectant glare. You eyed the appendage questionably, not exactly certain what Law wanted you to do. He quickly caught wind of your confusion and huffed, not exactly in the mood to deal with your sarcastic or impractical behaviour.

“Give me back my picture.” Law demanded.

You stifled a chuckle at the familiar phrase, knowing that the raven – haired man would not give up so easily on the matter. Law should have learned long ago that you would never listen to a thing he’d say, let alone actually give into his demands. It seems the ‘intelligent’ doctor still needed a lot to learn.

In addition, why would you give up such a valuable object that could make you a lot of money? It also provided with some interesting entertainment concerning his barbaric fangirls.

You crossed your arms over your chest, “Now why would I do something like that?”

Law narrowed his eyes, his patience dwindling, “Because that’s my picture, Shorty – ya. It’s not some that you should just parade around like you own it.”

“But I do own it.” You countered with an impish smirk.

“No, you don’t,” Law growled, yet still tried to maintain control of his emotions, “Give it back now.”

“I would give it back to you, Taffy, I would. However, I don’t have it on me at the moment.” You shrugged.

Law sighed as he rubbed his eyes exhaustedly, “Alright, then where is it?”

“At home.” You hummed. “Anyways, it was fun talking with you – not. See you later, Taffy ~”

You quickly side – stepped around Trafalgar and dashed off towards the eating area.

“Hey, I’m not done talking to you!” Law shouted after you, but it was too late. You had already disappeared around the corner. He grunted irritably, dragging a tattooed hand down his face.

Was it that hard to just give him back the damn photo?

“She better not sell it.” Law grumbled, turning on his heel and begun to walk in the other direction.

The Next Day [Friday], Final Period

The bell had rung, finally signaling the end of the class as well as the school day. You gathered your belongings and exited the classroom, making your way throughout the bustling halls until you had managed to find your locker. Putting in the combination for your lock, you opened the small, blue door and began your normal routine of swapping items.

You suddenly paused as a strange feeling abruptly struck you. You could feel the stares of someone or maybe even a group of people locked on your form. You hesitantly glanced back to see that your hunch was dead on, now realizing that nearly every girl in the immediate hallway was glaring at you with a mixture of abhorrence and envy.

They were Law’s fangirls if you remembered correctly, or at least a good number of them were.

You were at a loss at to why such hate filled looks were directed to you. You did not recall doing anything wrong, at least not to your knowledge.

You also noted that many of the women all held in their hands the weekly newspaper. There was a possibility that they all read something in the paper they were not particularly fond of. But if that was the case, then why were so many glares directed towards you?

You didn’t buy a paper, so naturally you were not exactly sure what in the world could cause such reactions. You were a bit interested in wanted to know the reason, but at the same time you would rather just go home and binge watch the newest season of your favorite show.

You now had another reason to leave the school as fast as possible, besides honestly believed that at any moment all the women in the hall were going to tear your apart. You turned back to your locker, trying to exchange whatever you needed as quickly as you could.

You still felt the stares, and they seemed to grow more intense as the seconds ticked by.

You, finally having what you needed, practically slammed your locker shut and you turned to make a dash for the nearest exit. However, you paused, for an advancing movement out of the corner of your eyes caught your attention. You turned back to see, a bit surprisingly, Trafalgar Law making his way towards you.

He did not look happy at all.

If the saying ‘if looks can kill’ were in fact true, this entire hallway would be filled with bodies. You had never seen this man look so angry in your life. In was true that you had witnessed firsthand how Trafalgar Law acted when he was pissed, but he seemed beyond pissed at this point.

He seemed to be an entirely new definition of enraged.

You did not want to deal with this kind of fury, especially since it did not look like a fun – loving conversation would arise. In addition, you were a bit scared to be honest.

It did not look like running away would do you any good either, since the wanna – be – doctor had already spotted you and made a beeline throughout the crowd towards you. Your legs were also rooted to the ground, refusing to move under any circumstances.

It was then you caught sight of the weekly newspaper gripped tightly in a tattooed hand. Your hunch was right once again, but now you defiantly didn’t want to see what could have caused such a reaction from both the fangirls and Law himself.

All you knew was that it concerned yourself and Trafalgar Law.

The raven – haired man came to a halt, panting a little as he glared down at you. You blinked at your partner, purposely avoiding any means of eye contact only to find yourself momentarily eyeing his hat that concealed a good portion of his hair.

You clicked your tongue, deciding to taunt Law in hopes of distracting yourself from the surrounding glares, “Wow, Taffy, still wearing your hat in –”

Law effectively cut your mockery off by shoving the newspaper into your chest. You grunted before glaring up at him, “That’s pretty rude, interrupting someone when their –”

“Read the front page.” Law ordered, once again interjecting in a tone that desperately struggled to remain as calm and collected as possible. You clicked your tongue once again, not exactly keen on the fact that he had done it again, but complied. You straightening out the papers and searched for the front page.

You found it fairly quickly, and you stared at the large bolded text of the main article. Your [colour] – hues widened in disbelief and horror at the front heading, your jaw hanging open as you attempted to process what the hell you just read.

TRAFALGAR LAW FINALLY TAKEN?

Underneath the headline displayed a coloured image of [F/N] [L/N] and Trafalgar Law standing alone in a secluded area, both young adults seemingly conversing with one another. You quickly recognized the area, it being where you had been forced to have a private chat with the tattooed man.

However, it did not seem very private any longer.

It seemed someone, most likely from the weekly paper, believed that you and Law were secretly seeing each other when decided it would be a wonderful scoop. It was obvious they did not take into account how much drama and chaos they had just created.

You glanced around you once again, the glares of your partner’s fangirls still present and seemingly even more intense with the presence of their idol. The reactions earlier now made perfect sense, they were very jealous that their crush had just been publically announced to no longer be single. It is such a shame they were unaware that there was nothing what – so – ever going on between the pair.

    You were not dating.

    Heck, you weren’t even friends!

Regardless, your university life had just gotten a lot harder and all because you had a harmless talk with Trafalgar Law.

Ah, sorry for the long wait, I've been trying to figure out what to do with the plot for this part and I've finally got it! :happybounce: :happybounce: :happybounce:
